Fermenters should be routinely passivated to prevent surface corrosion and maintain the integrity and performance according to manufacturer's specifications. Stainless steel fermenters are very durable but use over time will accumulate iron build up on the interior of the stainless. Hydrosol's cleaning methods are used to flush the system to return the equipment to a clean and sanitized state. When equipment is properly passivated and sanitized it will remove contaminants such as dirt and particles.
Stainless steel fermenters may become susceptible to rust when the protective coating has worn and the iron is exposed. Proper passivation will apply an oxide film which will protect your equipment from future corrosion.
